Hmmmm....long blog entries??

So, I find myself writing long blog entries lately...and I wonder, do people read long blog entries? If I write for me, they might get longer than people are willing to digest...if I focus more on the audience, blog entries may not be as in touch with my experience. I'm just curious, do bloggers out there think about this issue? What do you think?

I love your blog entries just the way they are - they tell the story. To shorten them would be to miss part of the story. Please keep writing just as you have been!

I ditto what Patricia said.
I even go back to read again because you have such a great style of writing.

It's more a question, I think, of does one line lead to the next. And in your case, so far, YES. If the post is extra long, but interesting, and my time is short, I'll come back. Or I'll print out the post to read later.

You write poetry -- that's a song, and cannot be chopped unless for its own rhythm.

Prose can be like that too -- we just do the best we can, Laura, and maybe keep an eye on the traffic.

For me, it depends on the content. Wired published an article last week saying blogging was dead and 140 characters on twitter was the way to go. Twitter works for a quick announcement but it is no place for exploration or stories. Stories are woven and it can take some time and space to set it.

Guess it ate my previous comment, wo I'll try again...and hope this is not redundant.

Hi, I've been enjoying your works, here, and had thought to remark on your long answer question, but I see that the folks here have pretty much covered what I had in mind to say (and in much more efficient, short comments) so I will just borrow a phrase from sports.
"Go long!"

Very much enjoyed the writing!
